That's the biggest mistake the beauty consultants make

And they are playing a risky game with consumer health (even though they`re doing it unconsciously).

Social media is drowning in news that eye creams are more of a marketing scam!

There's even some experts debating whether the “eye cream category” isn't an exaggeration.

Well it`s not!

And here's why.

1. Skin around the eyes is much thinner and sensitive.

2. It does not produce enough natural moisturising compounds and oils.

3. Eye-area skin has the weakest moisture barrier.C

4. And that means a lower protection from external irritants, including pathogens.

5. The eye-area is more prone to infections.

For that reason, eye-area products have been classified as Category 1 cosmetics.

Meaning that much stricter microbiological limits apply for these products.

Saying that eye creams are just a scam is wrong.

Saying that you can use regular creams around the eyes is also wrong.

Eye-area skin requires more (and specific) protection.

And that's the main reason the eye cream category exists, and it makes sense!

PS: Keep these microbiological limits in mind when designing your new eye-area cosmetic.
